Mr. Antall Jozsef,

Hungary.
Dear Mr. Antall Jozsef,
HARE KRISHNA RELIGION.
Please accept our heartfelt greetings and
best wishes from the Tamil people in Switzerland.
Kindly allow us to bring the following
matter to your attention: We heard that the Hare Krishna religion
has been labelled by some committee as a "destructive cult"
and that intentions are expressed that this ancient religion of
the Hindu tradition would be banned from your country. We are deeply
shocked to hear such wrong and actually blasphemous accusations.
In our home country, Sri Lanka, this religion has been practised
since thousands of years, and we Tamil people had contact with devotees
from the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON)
since their arrival in Sri Lanka.
At present, due to very unfortunate circumstances,
we had to leave our country and take refuge in Switzerland as political
refugees. Bereft of our homeland, family and friends we feel quite
isolated. Fortunately, by the grace of God, we have the opportunity
to practice our religion -through the devotees of the Hare Krishna
religion. Regularly we come to the Hare Krishna temple for our prayers,
our mass(arati) and other religious functions. The Hare Krishna
religion devotees are our priests who perform our marriages and
other rituals. We are very much indebted to them since they give
us great hope and solace in our situation - so far away from our
dear homeland.
We hope and pray that the Krishna devotees
are given full freedom to practice the religion of their choice
also in Hungary. In our present situation in the world there is
a great need, like never before, that true followers of religion
are able to live a pious life. We are counting on your kind help
and support.
May this letter meet you in the best of health.
Your ever thankful,
Swiss-Tamil Krishna Society.
President. Muthulingam Nimalakumar.
Secretary. Thangarajah Mahendrarajah.
